New album from Karsten Pflum

Published June 22, 2015 11:00

Karsten Pflum's new album Dode is out now on Hymen Records!

Musically motivated by a various array of artists such as Chris Carter, E.R.P., Arpanet, and even Depeche Mode, the eleven tracks abduct the listener into an aural parallel universe.

Terms like drum and bass, electro and ambient can be correctly used while describing this album, yet the unusual way these styles are executed, combined with an emotional roller coaster of moods generated by Karsten Pflum's tremendous skills make this album a uniqe masterpiece of contemporary electronica.

"Diamonds EP" from Mikkel Meyer

Published January 21, 2015 12:45

Mikkel Meyer's fifth release, and his second on Rump, the new “Diamonds EP" will be released the 12th of February 2015.
His previous release, the nostalgic 303 & 808-based "Jolly EP" from 2014, gained great reviews around the globe plus airplay at the BBC.
After the release Mikkel Meyer joined the touring KUBE project with Rumpistol and Unkwon and now he's back with a release full of sparkling emotional acid tunes.
The title refers to diamonds as a precious gemstone and a profitable object to simile or synthesize. Inspired by this strange nature of the stone, Meyer names his tunes after different imitations of the mythical rock.

It was directed by the talented Vibeke Bertelsen (Obscura/Udart) and features John LaMonica on vocals.

The track was taken from Rumpistol's album "Away"' still available on triple vinyl and as digital download here.

What would the fusion of electronic music, afro and jazz sound like, if interpreted by four very different musicians originating in various areas of the music scene? Two of Danish electronic music's most exciting producers, Rumpistol and Spejderrobot have teamed up with the legendary jazz drummer Emil de Waal and guitarist Niclas Knudsen (Ibrahim Electric) to explore this – the result is Kalaha.

The debut album from jazz/electro quartet Kalaha feat. Rumpistol, Spejderrobot, Emil de Waal+ & Niclas Knudsen has just been rewarded with 5 stars from Danish Magazine SOUNDVENUE and will be out Sept. 1st.

'Hahaha' is based on existing tunes from each group member's back catalogue. Through improvisation and transformation new versions appear.
The album embraces both electronic, jazz and afro beat. It provides an array of original soundscapes with melodic and danceable elements to more dark and introvert listen sequences.

"Away Rmxs" feat. Opiate, Bodwan & Shatter Hands

Published June 19, 2014 12:56

Three previously unreleased remixes + the acapella of the title track taken from Rumpistol’s 2014 album will be released the 30th of June, 2014.
The three remixers have take 3 quite different approaches to the original vocal track.
Danish electronic pioneer and master remixer Opiate aka Thomas Knak delivers an incredibly beautiful dark take on the track. So good that we decided to include it in both a vocal-mix and as an instrumental.
Bodwan aka Alberto Pagnin from Venice (IT) really surprised us with his "Vcvrs" EP from last year. He has given "Away" the UK-garage treatment of course with a melancholic twist.
Danish newcomer Shatter Hands has twisted the vocals of Red Baron & Katherine Mills Rymer (from OFFJ) in the same manner as he did in his incredible remix of Nanome's "Hunter" last year.
